The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Lack of camaraderie among the board members prolongs board meetings unnecessarily. As the Village Clerk, my position is administrative, but I can continue to set a good example and perform my duties as required, remaining professional, with a level head and keeping the meetings to a standard. To continue to stay focused on the issues and keep everyone’s voices heard timely, would be one of my main priorities.
Do you support Black Lives Matter and what are your thoughts on the demonstrations held since the death of George Floyd and the shooting of Jacob Blake?
I support Black Lives Matter and the peaceful demonstrations that have taken place.
Do you think the current board has done enough to support racial equality, and if not, what specifically should be done to do so?
Yes
What are your thoughts on the national and local coronavirus response? Do you favor measures such as limiting operation of non-essential businesses and restricting indoor/outdoor dining? And do you favor a local mask mandate?
This is an issue that the Village Clerk has no input on
What are your thoughts on the state and local coronavirus vaccine distribution, and how do you think local governments should work together to handle vaccine rollout?
This is an issue that the Village Clerk has no input on
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My family and I have served the community in many volunteer positions over the past 36 years that my family has resided in Lisle. I have always stepped up when asked to serve often times putting others’ needs before my own.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
As Village Clerk, I personally do not have a campaign platform, but I do support the Lisle First platform of continuing to freeze taxes, maintaining a balanced budget and promoting economic growth.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
In the two years that I have been Village Clerk I have only missed one meeting when I was out of the country. I am punctual and have performed what ever duties are asked of me.
If you win this position, what accomplishment would make your term in office as a success?
Performing my duties as expected of me and continuing to support positive changes in Lisle
Why should voters trust you?
I am honest, focused, and hardworking.
What are your views on fiscal policy, government spending and the use of taxpayer dollars in the office you are seeking?
I have no input on these issues as Village Clerk
Is there any reason you would not serve your full term of office, other than those of health or family?
No
