Months after a bribery scandal rocked the halls of Illinois government, there is still uncertainty over what action, if any, lawmakers will take in response. 

While the utility Commonwealth Edison admitted to providing bribes in return for help with legislation, no agreement has been reached on how far the state should go to prevent such behavior in the future. 

At the same time, ComEd’s parent company Exelon has also proposed closing two nuclear power plants in the state, meaning a loss of jobs.   

And a new state budget will get a lift from federal stimulus money.  But there are also calls for adding new programs and expanding others.
