Tornado hits the suburbs of Chicago, leaving 22,000 without power and 5 hospitalized.
Meanwhile, Edgar County is still without warning sirens; they gave them all away several years ago, at a time when most counties were scrambling to replace or fix theirs.

ReplyOur family in Woodridge got hit. Other family in Burr Ridge, Naperville and Bolingbrook escaped with minor damage. Thanking God they’re safe and uninjured..
No one heard sirens in the middle of the night. One had her phone on and the alarm to seek shelter in the basement came blaring through.
We need a different system to alarm communities. In the meantime, NOAA radios for everyone you love!
Shameful that Edgar County has been sitting on its heels when it’s citizens are in Illinois’ tornado alley.

ReplyCan’t understand why any government would give away sirens that would notify citizens of potential problem. Go figure. Sorry to hear about the tornado, etc. been involved with nasty straight line winds – tree fell close to house hit gutter, but not house — out of power 2 1/2 days. People helped out and I do really appreciate electricity. Hope things get resolved quickly for those affected.

Naperville and Woodridge must be full of white Republicans, If this was the South side of Shitcago Prtiz would be there for his Homies.
