Washington — The government’s top infectious disease experts say the family is a safe outdoor trick-or-treat for Halloween this year, especially for those who are vaccinated, as the number of cases of COVID-19 in the United States is declining. You can feel the treat.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Sunday on CNN’s “Program Show” that it was an important time of the year for children, so “go there” and “enjoy.”

He added that anyone who wants to enjoy Halloween on October 31st should consider getting a shot of that “additional protection” if they haven’t been vaccinated yet.

So far, the COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for people over the age of 12. The Food and Drug Administration is planning a meeting in late October to consider Pfizer’s request for an emergency use authorization for vaccines for children aged 5 to 11.

There are about 95,000 new COVID-19 cases per day nationwide. Fauci called the downtrend “good news,” but warned that he would declare a premature victory as the incident bounced back in the past.

He said he hopes to reduce the number of cases to less than 10,000 per day before lifting the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, such as taking off masks indoors in public places.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — Malaysian leaders say state borders will resume after a month-long ban on tourism and economic revitalization movements.

Currently, over 90% of adults in the country are fully vaccinated. Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the ban on interstate highway travel would be lifted from Monday. He says fully vaccinated Malaysians can now travel to other states for vacations and return to their hometowns.

According to Ismail, Malaysians are now free to travel abroad without the need for approval, but they must be tested for viruses and quarantined upon their return. He said in a national broadcast on Sunday that the government is still assessing the situation to determine whether it is safe for foreigners to reopen the border.

Texas Plano — Texas Governor’s Republican nominee Allen West, a tea party fire brand, was hospitalized on Sunday at COVID-19, but said he was “doing great.”

“No complaints. I’m just relaxing,” West told The Associated Press. In a short telephone interview from a hospital on the outskirts of Dallas in Plano. He said good night and was waiting for the result of an early morning chest X-ray.

West and his wife, Angela West, were diagnosed with the virus after attending a “crowded house” fundraising event in Seabrook, Texas last week. “We are suspending face-to-face events until we receive clear instructions,” he said on Saturday.

Clayton, MO — Deputy Chief of the St. Louis County Police Department has ordered that all police officers must obtain the COVID-19 vaccine or follow county orders to undergo weekly testing.

The order was issued even though police officers filed a proceeding over whether the county mission should be applied to the police station. The police station is governed primarily by the Chief of Police and the St. Louis County Police Commission.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the request for a temporary detention order for officer Jared Lindeman claimed that only the county council and St. Louis County executive Samuel Page had the authority to impose requirements on officers.

The scheduled Friday hearing on Lindemann’s request was canceled after St. Louis County Police Chief Kenneth Gregory issued his order. Lindeman’s lawyer, Christopher Graville, said he was considering how to proceed with Lindeman’s proceedings after the order.
