Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –

Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard and Dolton Trustee Andrew Holmes have been named as Defendants in a civil lawsuit by a former Dolton and Thornton Township employee and former Dolton Police officer as Plaintiffs.

In the lawsuit are allegations that Trustee Andrew Holmes sexually assaulted a Dolton employee while on a taxpayer-funded trip to Las Vegas in May 2023. Henyard and around a dozen others attended an event in Las Vegas, where Henyard used tax funds to pay for first-class airfare. She took her ‘security’ detail and several others. This was all paid for with taxpayer funds.

While there, the employee said she felt light-headed and dizzy and eventually blacked out from what she now believes to be from something Trustee Holmes put in her drink.

Holmes allegedly phoned a Dolton police officer and member of Henyard’s ‘security’ detail to brag about his sexual activities in Las Vegas and even face-timed a video of the employee in various stages of undress. In a second conversation, Holmes told the officer he had unprotected sex with the employee.

After reporting the incident to Henyard, Henyard’s main concern was reputational damage to Henyard – which she has since shown she can destroy her own reputation without any help from others.

The Dolton employee was placed on unpaid leave and eventually terminated from her jobs in Dolton and Thornton Township. The Dolton police officer was also terminated from his job for reporting the incident to Henyard.

The Counts include:

  • Human Rights Act violations
  • Assault and Battery
  • Nonconsensual Dissemination of Private Sexual Images violations
  • more Human Rights Act violations

Plaintiffs are seeking actual and punitive damages against both Henyard and Holmes.
