The attack is related to an incident in which a mob became violent on August 11, 2020 in protest against a derogatory social media (Facebook) pod by one Naveen, targeting two police stations.
The mob attacked police officers, burned police cars, and damaged government and private property in and around two police stations. The riots were aimed at causing fear and panic in the neighborhood and causing fear in society.
After the investigation, NIA filed indictments on February 5, this year, for attacks on 109 and 138 defendants DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations, respectively.
In November last year, counterterrorism agencies investigated 43 locations in Bangalore, including four offices of the Social Democratic Party of India and the political sector of India’s Popular Finance Initiative (PFI), in connection with the incident. ..
