Washington DC [US], August 21 (ANI): Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman discussed with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamirov how to protect Afghanistan’s human rights, following a swift takeover of the Taliban.

“Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman met with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamirov today,” Price said in a reading. “They discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the need for a comprehensive political solution to protect human rights,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.

Sherman thanked the Uzbek government for facilitating the repatriation of Americans and welcomed continued cooperation on the temporary relocation of vulnerable Afghans.

Afghan soldiers fled to Uzbekistan as the Taliban terrorist group hijacked at least 46 US-supplied aircraft, according to the Wall Street Journal.

About 585 Afghan soldiers reportedly fled to Uzbekistan by air. A total of 46 aircraft flying to Uzbekistan make up the majority of the Afghan Air Force.

On Thursday, the Uzbek government said it would support the Afghan military’s beliefs about the country’s readiness to form an inclusive government.

In a statement, the Uzbekistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that the transfer of power in Afghanistan would take into account the generally accepted norms of international law and be peaceful on the basis of general consensus. ..

The Taliban entered the capital on Sunday and declared victory over the Ashraf Ghani administration. Since then, chaotic scenes have continued in the city and you can see people rushing to the airport to escape the country. (ANI)
