Cook Co. (ECWd) –

The Village of Dolton’s legal representative, Del Galdo Law Group, LLC, has filed a motion to withdraw citing Supreme Court Rule 1.16(a)(6).

1.16(a)(6) -(a) Except as stated in paragraph (c), a lawyer shall not represent a client or, where representation has commenced, shall withdraw from the representation of a client if:
(6) the representation will result in an unreasonable financial burden on the lawyer or has been rendered unreasonably difficult by the client; (emphasis added)

Considering the rule cited we wonder if Henyard has refused to pay the legal bills created from the numerous FOIA lawsuits the Village faces or if she has determined the lawyers demanding the law be followed constitute them being unreasonably difficult.

Included in the motion was a request for an extension of time to answer one of our Freedom of Information Act lawsuits.

In light of all the negative press Mayor Tiffany Henyard has brought upon herself it may be difficult for the Village to find competent legal counsel willing to represent them.

We will continue to update on this matter as it moves through the court.
