Shelby Co. (ECWd) –

Dr. Chris Boehm appears to take one step forward and then one step back.  Boehm was facing an indirect criminal contempt charge for refusing to testify in a Grand Jury proceeding.  We understand he cured that contempt by testifying in this month’s Grand Jury, but not before obstructing service of his subpoena to appear at this month’s Grand Jury.

His indirect criminal contempt charge was dismissed according to Judici.com on 4/26/2024, the day after the last Grand Jury was convened.

We have learned Boehm filed an ARDC complaint against the State’s Attorney in early March which was determined to be unfounded and dismissed in a whopping 7 days. He disclosed information about the Grand Jury in that filing, along with other bits of false information that we will cover in a future article.

According to Judici.com, he now faces a Class B Misdemeanor for obstruction of service.  A notice to appear was mailed and he is required to appear in Courtroom A at 9 am on 5/09/2024.

UPDATE: A copy of the charge sheet was provided and it alleges that Boehm hid in his house to avoid service. A copy can be viewed below or downloaded at this link.

“That on or about April 15, 2024, in Shelby County, the defendant, CHRISTOPHER J. BOEHM, committed the offense of OBSTRUCTING SERVICE OF PROCESS, in that the said defendant knowingly resisted or obstructed the authorized service of a subpoena for appearance before the Grand Jury of Shelby County, Illinois, in that the said defendant hid inside his house and would not answer the door for Special Investigator Michael Holmes with the knowledge that Michael Holmes was attempting an authorized and lawful service of process, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/31-3, a Class B Misdemeanor.”
