Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –

UPDATE: 10-3-2024Court dismissed the Rule to Show Cause against Henyard “without prejudice”, meaning this can be included in any future filings. Henyard was also admonished by the Court, she acknowledged receiving the TROs, reading them, understanding them, and having no questions about them.

Dolton Village Trustees filed a Motion in Cook County Circuit Court seeking a Rule to Show Cause as to why Mayor Tiffany Henyard (for prohibiting village administrator Keith Freeman from performing his work) and Ronnie Burge Sr. (for failing to return the village’s police chief badge, keys, and uniform) should not be held in contempt of court for violations of the recent temporary restraining orders against Henyard and the three appointees who were removed by the court last week.

A Hearing on this Motion is scheduled for October 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

Within the filing:

  • Burge was instructed to return the village issued police badge, keys, and uniform, but has refused to do so as of the date of this filing. He did return the police vehicle
  • Henyard prohibited village administrator Keith Freeman from performing his duties by removing his access to the village’s online software package, which is needed fr Freeman to perform his duties as village administrator
  • Interfered with the locksmith who was changing the locks at village hall, again, which would have given Freeman access to his office again
  • Henyard imposed new directives after the TRO was granted, which consisted of what could be considered as unreasonable performance requirements on Freeman

One cannot help but conclude Mayor Henyard is bound for prison.
