BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police received three calls in recent days about suspicious people knocking on residents’ doors. Here is information from the reports:

  • A resident in the 11700 block of Briarwood Court told police about 11 p.m. Saturday that a suspicious man knocked on her front door and stated he was having car trouble. An officer spoke with the man, who was in a white 2008 Infiniti. He said he was stuck because of heavy snowfall. He voluntarily turned over a small amount of marijuana. It was placed into property control for destruction. Public works plowed the street, and the man went on his way.
  • A resident on Clubside Court told police Friday that a man came to her door to say he was part of the government doing a background check on a neighbor. The man left his name and phone number, but did not have a business card. He did not go to any other houses. The resident was waiting to hear back from the neighbor.
  • A resident on Bay Rum Court told police that a man knocked on his door about 11 p.m. Saturday looking for his daughter. The man left, and an officer was unable to find him.
