This employee was NOT in close contact with the Governor today or in previous days. All staff members identified as a close contact will follow CDC protocol for quarantine.

SPRINGFIELD, IL. (ECWd) –
During routine COVID testing today a member of the Governor’s Office staff tested positive for COVID-19.
- This employee was NOT in close contact with the Governor today or in previous days.
- All staff members identified as a close contact will follow CDC protocol for quarantine.
- The positive employee had recently received their first dose of vaccine.
The Governor’s Office continues to follow COVID-19 safety protocols including testing staff multiple times per week, weekly deep cleaning procedures, mask wearing, social distancing, and limiting the number of staff reporting to the office for in person work.
